I have been keeping up with our friends over at Advanced A/V Rentals. They are redesigning their website and keeping track of the process with their blog.

They are in the process of selecting stock photos and videos for the content of the site and stumbled across istockphoto which allows users the right to stock media beyond your wildest search query.

Seems like it might be worth its weight in gold because of the production time it saves. Some videos can be had in HD, although as our friends at Advanced A/V said it can get a bit pricey.

Regardless…Its worth a Look

Biggest Loser… From a marketing stand point

Victor Martinez was recently traded from the Cleavland Indians to the Boston Red Sox, being one of the more popular players in the club the marketing department had been planning on two Martinez give aways for the following week.

Of course the marketing department had no indication of the looming trade but all might not be bad. Rather then giving these promotional items away they may have more monetary value then originally anticipated because of the nature of the story!

Alright so Chris Brown’s “Forever” came out over a year ago and with his most recent media coverage being the Rihanna incident he was less then popular in 2009.

But one video on Youtube may have single handedly resurrected his carreer.

At this point I’m sure you are aware of this video I’m talking about and if you are not my question is, are you are of the interent?

If not…

So in a recent blog post it was said that this video pulled over 10 million views in a week, I mena i could go with a number of cliche` similes referencing how fast this is spreading but thats not the point. The point is that youtube has “content right tools” that allow the owners of the right to the content to monetize the viral properties.

In this case a tool to allow viewers to purchase Chris Brown’s “Forever” which boosted the song back on to the Billboard Charts and back up to number 4 at one point on itunes’ top 100… Crazy right?

So even though there is tons of users generated content that businesses and artist alike would not touch with a 10 foot foot poll this goes against conventional thinking and has even sprung a stream of professionally produced faux videos.
